Light tones and easy living with Kährs Sand Collection
2010-11-24
Reflecting the trend for light toned flooring, forecast for spring/summer 2011, Kährs Sand Collection includes seven stunning wood floors in a range of different designs. Crafted in Sweden from sustainable European Oak and Ash, the Collection includes one-strip plank, two-strip and three-strip designs, in a variety of lively and even timber grades. All floors are offered with a durable white matt lacquer prefinish for durability and easy care.
Throughout the Sand Collection, all floors feature the award-winning, eco-friendly construction patented by Kahrs in 1941. They are crafted from sustainable timber and have a multi-layered construction, which uses hardwood down to the joint only, with fast-growing spruce and pine used below. As well as using the natural materials in the most eco-friendly way, the criss-cross construction offers 75% greater stability than a solid floor and it can be refurbished in exactly the same way. During production, any parts of the log that cant be used are converted to bio-fuel and waste ash, in turn, is used to fertilise neighbouring forests.
For ease of installation, all floors within the Sand Collection feature Kährs Woodloc® joint which aligns and locks the boards together, quickly and accurately, without glue. Meanwhile, the durable solvent-free lacquer prefinish provides a hardwearing surface, without disguising the woods character. |
