Kährs provides warm welcome at charismatic Mornington Hotel
6 April, 2011
Kährs wood flooring has been laid throughout guest rooms at the recently refurbished Mornington Hotel, in West London. Incorporating complete renovation of all floors, the project was carried out by Architect and Interior Design practice, Dexter Moren Associates. Kährs Walnut Montreal was chosen to complement the strong, charismatic interior design whilst providing high performance.
Positioned in Bayswater, close to Hyde Park, Mornington Hotel occupies a Grade 2 listed building. The extensive refurbishment scheme saw Dexter Moren Associates create a country gentlemans pied a terre feel throughout the 70-bedroom boutique hotel. Pin stripes and herringbone fabrics used alongside dark wood finishes complement the hotels original features, including its panelled reception and library bar.
Cheryl Smith, Interior Designer at Dexter Moren Associates commented, "Throughout the design, we carefully chose materials to add style and a hint of modernity, whilst complementing the original design. Kährs Walnut Montreal, with its rich, opulent tone, provided a warm backdrop throughout the bedrooms. It also met all of our criteria in terms of quality and durability, essential in a hotel environment."
Kährs Walnut Montreal is an even grained three-strip wood floor from Kährs American Naturals Collection. Crafted in Sweden, from sustainable timber, the floor features Kährs award-winning eco-friendly multi-layered construction, a glueless Woodloc® joint and durable lacquered prefinish.
