 Kährs beats the clock at Bishop Burton’s new sports academy2010-08-09
Over 800 sq metres of Kährs Activity floor has been installed within a two-day time frame at Bishop Burton College’s new Sports Academy. Specified as part of the college’s £25m campus development programme, all flooring was laid in a quarter of the time allocated. Speed and accuracy was facilitated by Kährs unique ‘all-in-one’ sports floor design, which features integral shock-absorption and reinforcement properties, Kährs glueless Woodloc® joint and a durable prefinish.
During installation, Activity floor was installed directly onto the subfloor, throughout the new sports hall, without the need for additional battens and fittings. Woodloc® enabled the floor to be laid accurately and 50% more quickly than a traditional sports floor, whilst also removing the risk of gapping associated with many glue joins. Meanwhile, the product’s satin lacquered surface eliminated the need for sanding and sealing onsite, further reducing installation time. Additional Kährs flooring was also installed within the College’s new Dance Studio.
Available in Beech, Oak Natural, Oak Mocha and Maple, Activity Floor is fully compliant to DIN and new EU standards and is the official FISAF floor for the World & European Aerobics Championships through to 2011. |
