Fresh, natural floors set the scene for Spring/Summer 2011
As buds unfurl, the popular grey and oyster hues of Winter look set to evolve into fresh, natural shades for Spring/Summer wood floors. Pale blonde White Oak and Nordic Ash provide a gentle colour pallet, whilst knots and gnarls left in create texture, interest and reinforce the natural look keenly sought by designers and home-lovers alike.
For so many years, wood floor styles have fallen into two categories; the minimalistic, contemporary floor, with its even grain and pallet, and the knotty, rustic country floor, with lots of colour variation and distinct figuring. Its refreshing to see the styles merge, as lively timber floors bring natural interest to sleek interiors, and paler species bring Nordic light to more traditional spaces. Eco-friendly, natural materials really are becoming more and more popular, as consumers mix styles to create a more relaxed organic look in all environments, commented Stina Andersson, Kährs Designer.
New Kährs wood floor products, that reflect this easy, natural style, include the Artisan and Coastal Collections, and the new Supreme Range. With both one-strip plank and patterned options, in many different species and tones, the new floors feature a variety of surface treatments to enhance their naturalness from brushed surfaces and distinct bevelled edges, to handscrapped and distressed finishes, for a strong vintage feel.
Based on Kährs award-winning original parquet design, all floors feature a multi-layered construction, which is both eco-friendly and provides enhanced stability. All products are crafted from sustainable timber and are offered with a durable solvent-free oil or lacquer prefinish for easy care.
